Get Involved
York Museums Trust manages York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens and York St Mary's.
If you would like to get involved in helping us to develop our museums and gallery and find out more about what we do, please get in touch.
You can help us in all sorts of ways, by Volunteering, or by giving Donations, Knowledge or Objects.
We would also like to hear from you if you would like to take part in our consultation exercises to help us plan for the future development of the museums.
New Trustees
Expressions of interest sought
York Museums Trust has gone from strength to strength since its establishment in 2002, due in no small part to the work of our dedicated Trustees.
The Trust's portfolio includes York Castle Museum, York St Mary's, York Art Gallery, Yorkshire Museum and the Museum Gardens – as well as many various and broad ranging partnerships, including with the Tate and the British Museum.
Our Trustees have refreshingly diverse backgrounds from the public and private sector, commerce, the arts and academia and contribute a wide range of skills, knowledge and experience to help York Museums Trust fulfil its ambitions.
What can you offer the Trust?
We are seeking new Trustees to join the Board, with broad experience at a senior management level, preferably with expertise in financial, legal, curatorial or business services. A strategic and creative thinker, he or she will have a strong empathy with the arts and heritage sector.
If you feel you have the suitable qualities to contribute to the success of York Museums Trust, then please send your CV and a covering letter for consideration. Vacancies usually arrive annually due to the rotation of board members and therefore expressions of general interest for future availability are welcomed.
Please send to jonathan.peters@ymt.org.uk, or Jonathan Peters, York Museums Trust, St Mary’s Lodge, Marygate, York, YO30 7DR.
